Obituary for Hartmuth Arthur "Hodd" Arlic

Hartmuth Arthur “Hodd” Arlic 91, of Wellston, Michigan passed from this world on Saturday December 16 at the home of his son in Bronson, Michigan.
He was born on March 9th, 1926 in Angola, Indiana to Franz Xavier “Frank” Arlic and Stephanie Schmidt Arlic.
Hodd was drafted in to the military from Indianapolis, Indiana and is listed on the U. S. World War II Enlistment Records, 1938-1946. Enlisted in the Air Force August 17, 1944 and was transferred to the Army during the Battle of the Bulge. After training he was sent to the Philippines where he served his country as an Army Truck Driver connected to an infantry unit. He was honorably dis-charged.
On July 26th, 1958, he married Lillian M. (Cassel) Arlic, together they owned and operated The Northwoods Cabin Court, in Wellston, Michigan. Hodd was truck driver and as a charter boat Captain has had many excursions for salmon on Lake Michigan.
He was a member of St Bernard Catholic Church in Irons, Michigan where he served in many areas, one being the Festival over Labor Day.
He is survived by Son ~ Allen F. Stark of Bronson, Michigan; Daughters ~ Armoret A. (Burnet) Hale of Burr Oak, Michigan; Andrea A. (David) Hile of Syracuse, Indiana & Angela A. (Wayne) Trusty of Syracuse, Indiana, 12 Grand-children, 20 Great Gran-children and 2 Great Great Grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, Alfred A and his wife Virginia I Arlic, Frank R and his wife Maxine Arlic, daughter-in-law Sharon Stark and Great Grandson Brayden “Charlie” Hale.
Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Friday December 22, 2017 at Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd, Sturgis, Michigan, 269-651-3284. Memorial service will follow visitation at 1:00pm. The Rev. George Milliman of the Burr Oak Missionary Church in Burr Oak will officiate. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Burial will take place at the Wellston Cemetery in Wellston Michigan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated to the family for a charity to be determined.
