Obituary for Myava M. Rodgers

Myava M. Rodgers age 50 of LaGrange, Indiana and a former longtime resident of Sturgis passed away Sunday afternoon September 3, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home in LaGrange.
She was born October 20, 1966 in LaGrange, Indiana daughter of Ernest and Sandra (Hartman) Miller.
Myava resided in LaGrange for the past 5 years coming from Sturgis where she lived most of her life.
She was a homemaker and loved time with family especially when she was caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters: Talyssa (Joshua) Shepherd of LaGrange, Indiana and Courtnee (Princeton) Potts of Three Rivers, Michigan; three grandchildren: Kaden Shepherd, Andrew Shoup and Kalyeah Potts; mother: Sandra Barrett of Sturgis, Michigan; six sisters and three brothers and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and one son: Joshua Shoup.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Myava M. Rodgers will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Sturgis Church of Christ in Sturgis. The Rev. George Cleverley will officiate.
The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331 is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial donations would be appreciated to the funeral home to help with expenses.
