In the summer of 2013, while he was undergoing chemo and radiation, he drove the old antique firetruck behind the little fire trucks in at least 8 parades. Because of his dedication he was presented with the honor of Shriner of the Year for 2012.

For 15 years, Bob volunteered his time every 4th of July to organize the fireworks display, for all to enjoy, at the Island on Klinger Lake. He and many helpers constructed a platform out in the lake where the fireworks were launched. When he stepped away from doing this Suzi and Bob Pucket took over.

Bob belonged to the Klinger Lake Country Club and loved the game of golf. He was a supporter of the club in his own way. Before retirement he played the game 2 or 3 times a week and after retirement he played 3 or 4 times a week particularly in Florida where he spent his winters as a snowbird.
