Obituary for Ronald Eugene Besser

Ronald Eugene Besser, age 82, a lifelong Sturgis resident passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his home.
He was born April 4, 1935 in Sturgis, MI a son to the late Robert and Grace (McHuron) Besser.
Ronald graduated from Sturgis High School, attended Tri State University, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On July 15, 1967 in Angola, IN he married Doris June Woods. She preceded him in death Sept. 12, 2007.
He was an entrepreneur and a businessman, owning and operating many small business ventures, including the Sturgis Trophy House, Besser Binders, and RGB Enterprises. He also worked a few years at the Kirsch Company in Advertising/marketing, was partners with a club in Angola, and operated a vending/Arcade route.
He was a lifetime member of the Sturgis Eagles and a member of the Sturgis American Legion.
Surviving are one sister: Janice (Harold) Frohriep of Sturgis, nieces and nephews including a very special nephew: Marty Hart of Sturgis, 3 step-children: Linda (Warren) Giggy, Connie Jo (Richard) Dideriksen, and Douglas Tuttle; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister: Carolyn Palmer.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Ronald E. Besser will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of one’s choice. Envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
