Obituary for Cheryl L. Rodriguez

Cheryl L. (Hart) Tubbs Rodriguez age 64 of Houston, Texas and a former Sturgis resident passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Houston Memorial Hospital in Houston.
She was born March 11, 1953 in Sturgis, Michigan daughter of the late Kenneth and Carolyn (Besser) Hart.
Cheryl was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1972. Following her graduation she continued her education in college in her pursuit of physical and message therapy. After moving to Houston she worked for various healthcare organizations. Before leaving for college Cheryl had been employed at the A&W Root Beer Stand, the Kirsch Company and the Sears store all in Sturgis.
Cheryl loved animals as she had horses, cows, chickens, cats, snakes and dogs. She lived life to its fullest and was loved by everyone that met her.
In 1987 she married the love of her life William Rodriguez. He survives along with her son: Brett (Annette) Tubbs of Huntsville, Texas; grandchildren: James and Makaylah Berdan of Huntsville, Texas; two brothers: Marty (Carolyn) Hart and Brian Hart both of Sturgis and many aunts, uncles and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband: Richard Tubbs.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and her ashes have been scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis assisted family with local arrangements.
The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Cheryl’s memory consider the Houston SPCA, 900 Portway Dr., Houston, TX 77024.
