Obituary for Samuel K. Sites

Samuel K. Sites age 76 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Sunday morning January 28, 2018 at the Laurels of Coldwater in Coldwater, Michigan.
He was born April 11, 1941 in Sturgis, Michigan son of the late Woodrow and Betty (Maxwell) Sites.
Sam’s early life was lived in Sturgis until the age of age 17 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and he returned to Sturgis to live in 1989.
Sam was proud to have served his Country in the U.S. Army from 1959-1979. During that time he served three tours of duty in Vietnam. At the time of his retirement he held the rank of Sergeant First Class.
He enjoyed building and remodeling, lawn work and landscaping.
Sam is survived by his wife: Patricia; two sons: Samuel Sites, Jr. and Timothy Sites both of Sturgis; one brother: Charles Sites of Sturgis; brother-in-law: Charles Ashcraft of LaGrange, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Sara “Sally” Ashcraft.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of the ashes will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date with full military honors being conferred.
The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331 is entrusted with the arrangements.
