Obituary for Arlie Mae Huff

Arlie Mae Huff age 90 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Monday afternoon, February 26, 2018 at the Adult Assisted Lake Living in Union City, Michigan.
She was born April 7, 1927 in Colon, Michigan daughter of the late Lloyd and Ida (Neil) Rathburn.
Mrs. Huff resided in Sturgis since 1940 coming from Kalamazoo, Michigan where she attended Portage Central High School.
On May 15, 1947 she married Arlo Huff in Angola, Indiana. He died March 11, 2004.
Mrs. Huff was a talented seamstress and had been employed for nine years by Freeman Manufacturing , the Sturgis Posture Chair Company for three years and retired from the Harter Corporation following 25 years of dedicated employment. She enjoyed working with her husband on the farm especially milking cows. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing and was deer hunting until the age or 80. She had hobbies and interests but what she truly loved was time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Huff was a longtime member of the auxiliaries of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
She is survived by two sons: Roger Lewis Huff of Bronson and Leeland (Karen) Huff of Coldwater; three grandchildren: Mark A. Huff of Sturgis, Rod A. (Missy) Huff of Tennesse, Erik Lee (Shawn) Huff of Coldwater; three great-grandchildren, Kaleb Michael Huff currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corp stationed in Missouri and Madeleine Rose Huff of Tennessee and Tyler Huff of Tennesse; three step-grandchildren, Deb (Bob) Hartbarger of Coldwater, Dawn (Mark) Green of Tekonsha, Kimberly Brown of Quincy; six step greatgrandchildren Cayla, Nicholas, Mackencie, Jessica, Sara and Samera; one great great grandchild: Sophie Avery; one brother: Ellis Rathburn of Sears and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; husband; three brothers: Delbert, Morris and Donald Rathburn.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. A graveside service and burial will take place at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. The Rev. Bob Renner of the Sturgis Missionary Church will officiate.
Memorial donation in Mrs. Huff’s memory would be appreciated to the family.
